Rwanda
Rwanda is a densely populated, land-locked country in east-central Africa. Its neighbours are Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Rwanda is mountainous, with grassy uplands, steep hills and deep valleys. Most people live in rural areas.
The port of Entry is Kigali International airport. Often referred to the land of Thousand hills, the country is also known for the Mountain Gorillas in Virunga mountains and big five game in Akagera National park. Akagera National Park is a protected area in eastern Rwanda with an approximate area of 1,122 km2 (433 sq mi) and along the international border with Tanzania. It is comprised of savannah, montane and swamp habitats. The park has diverse faunal and floral species like buffalos, antelopes including; the elands, topis, Maasai girafffes, monkeys, savannah birds, civets, leopards, the hyenas, as well as the serval cats. The other point of attraction is Nyungwe Forest National park, which is located in southwestern Rwanda, on the border with Burundi. The park is contiguous with the Kibira National Park to the south, and Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. It’s one of the best-preserved montane rainforests in Central Africa.The major attraction in Rwanda are the Mountain Gorillas, in volcanoes National park in the virunga mountains. With an approximate area of about 160 sq km, the Volcanoes national park is part of the great Virunga volcano conservation region spanning to cover Virunga national park Congo and Mgahinga national park Uganda. The park was initially a small area around Karisimbi, Mikeno and Visoke
volcanoes which was gazetted to protect the Mountain gorillas that was later gazette to protect the Mountain Gorillas from poaching. Besides gorillas, Volcanoes National park is a home for golden monkeys, a variety of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects among other creatures which
together make a complete.
