Zanzibar Island

Zanzibar is an insular semi-autonomous region which united with Tanganyika in 1964 to form the United Republic of Tanzania. It is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, 25–50 km (16–31 mi) off the coast of the African mainland, and consists of many small islands and two large ones: Unguja (the main island, referred to informally as Zanzibar) and Pemba Island. The capital of the Island  is Zanzibar City, located on the island of Unguja. Its historic center, Stone Town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The town boasts of spices, raffia, and tourism. The main spices produced are clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, coconut, and black pepper. The Zanzibar Archipelago, together with Tanzania’s Mafia Island, are sometimes referred to locally as the “Spice Islands”.

Kilindi Zanzibar

The hotel was Originally designed for Benny Andersson – one of the members of the 1970’s pop group ABBA. In each of the Pavilion suites, white wooden-slatted shutters embrace wide-arched glassless windows each affording spectacular views over the Indian Ocean.
